Transfer Day Pictures
These pictures are from October, but better late than never!
This picture is of Paul, Lisa, and me in the waiting room before the transfer all wearing our lucky yellow shirts. (Yellow is symbolic of fertility.) Paul was a good sport and played along to humor us.

Baby Update
We turned 15 weeks yesterday, and I felt the baby move for the first time. I haven't felt it today, but I'm sure I'll feel it again in the next few days. It's still early. The feeling of a baby moving around inside me is one of my favorite things about being pregnant. The whole thing is just such a miracle--I stand in awe of our miraculous God when I think about the way He designed our bodies to nurture and grow another human being.
I can't wait until Paul and Lisa can feel their baby from the outside. I can't remember at what point that usually happens. On February 11th we are going to have another ultrasound, and we are all looking forward to seeing the baby again. Hopefully, we'll be able to find out if it's a boy or a girl. If you want to guess the sex, leave a comment before the 11th!
I noticed yesterday that I'm getting that dark little line down my belly, and Kennedy tells me daily that my belly is getting big! When she eats or drinks a lot she'll stick out her little belly and tell me it's getting big like mine. Nothing like a three year-old to keep you humble.

David's Sick Sense of Humor
David mows yards on the side for extra money. Last week he was trimming one of his customers' hedges and he stopped to talk to her. David taught her son several years ago, and the lady told David that her son his wife were expecting a baby. So David told the woman I was pregnant too. She offered her congratulations, and with a straight face David said, "Well, it's not mine." The woman's eyes got really big and she started stammering that she was so sorry. He then explained that I was a surrogate. I couldn't believe it when he told me what he'd done, but I have to admit, I did laugh.
12 Week OB Visit
I was finally released to my regular OB, and we had our first visit last week. Now this should be a "normal" pregnancy--no more medicine and no more shots! It's actually been 3 weeks since I had a shot, and my hips are still sore. The baby looks great. It has a big head and skinny little arms and legs. I read that at this point the baby's head is about 1/2 his crown to rump length, but now his body will begin to grow and catch up with his head. He looked pretty active--we could see him waving his little arms and kicking his little legs. I can't believe how much the baby had grown since our last sonogram 4 weeks before. My belly is getting bigger. Here's a picture Lisa took the day of the appointment. I'm starting to feel much better. The morning sickness is almost gone, and I'm finally feeling like eating.
