I last updated in February and right after that got
incredibly busy. Sorry It's been so long. I'll try to catch everyone up.
The last day of February we went to see Dr. P for the 20 week sonogram. That was a lot of fun. I
took Conner out of school a little early and let him come along to see the baby. Kennedy got to come to the last sonogram, and he felt a little left out.
We met Paul's parents and his sister at Dr. P's office, so we had quite a crowd. Everyone was excited to catch a glimpse of Baby Madison. She looked perfect, but Dr. P was a little concerned about a sac that showed up on the sonogram. The sac from the second baby should have shrunk, so he wasn't quite sure what it was and sent us to a
perinatologist. After waiting on pins and needles all weekend, we went to see him Monday afternoon. It turns out that the sac is from the twin. It didn't shrink like they thought it would, but he doesn't feel like it's hurting anything. His sonogram machine was wonderful. We could see blood pumping through Madison's heart; we could see the
ventricles of her brain; we could see her precious little face, and she looks perfect.
March began with the
TAKS test. I kept telling myself that if I could just make it through the
TAKS, things would slow down. Ha! Ha! The weekend after the test we decided to buy a house! We are building in
Forney. That in itself wasn't too stressful...it was trying to get our house ready to put on the market that has proven to be a challenge. But, it's finally done. I thought it would be terrible to have the house ready to show at all times, but we really
decluttered and put a lot of our stuff in storage. I'm amazed at how much easier it is to keep my house clean.
At the end of March I traveled to Austin to present at the annual
Abydos Learning International Conference (formerly known as New Jersey Writing in Texas). I think the presentation went well--I should be receiving evaluations any day now.
Last week my
Braxton-Hicks contractions got a little painful, so I had to go to the triage center at Baylor's Labor and Delivery. I
was contracting between every 15-30 minutes, but they stopped hurting once I got into bed. After monitoring me for a while, they sent me home with some pain pills and orders to rest. The doctor on call felt like if I could get a good night's sleep it might clam everything down, and she was right. Everything seems fine now. I'm trying to make sure I rest every day and get
plenty of sleep.
Lisa sent me pictures, so I'll post those as well. As you will see, I've grown quite a bit over the past few months.
This picture is from March 1st. I was 20 weeks pregnant. Lisa invited me to join her and her mother-in-law and sister-in law on a shopping trip for Baby Madison. We spent hours in Babies R Us and had a blast. Lisa picked out the cutest lady bug bedding. I can't wait to see the nursery! This pregnancy I get to have fun shopping with Lisa and sit back and watch her deal with trying to get ready for the baby. I never before realized how stressful getting ready really is--I guess because it's a good kind of stress.
These were taken March 31. I was 24 weeks pregnant.

Kennedy still thinks we need belly shots
every time we take a picture with Lisa :0)
I'm about 25 weeks pregnant here.

At the beginning of April, Paul's father had heart surgery. I went to visit, and Paul got to feel Baby Madison moving for the first time. Lisa felt her the weekend before when she was here for our doctor appointment. We had so much fun poking my belly and trying to get her to move. At the hospital we had to give Baby Madison a little Dr. Pepper to wake her up. I was determined
for Paul to feel her move. I think that's one of the coolest things about being pregnant, and I couldn't wait for them to experience it.
These pictures are from our latest visit on Monday, April 28
th. I am 28 weeks pregnant. we will start seeing Dr. P every two weeks now.

Tomorrow we leave to visit Paul and Lisa at their house. We are all really excited. I'll try to post pictures of our trip next week.
