It Finally Arrived!!!

Remember the last time I received a box in the mail? It wasn't so pleasant...it was a box of needles about a year ago. But this time...

I opened up the box...

...and found the Vita-Mix I had ordered. I know it looks like an ordinary blender, but this blender has a lawn mower engine in it. OK, maybe it's not that big, but it's pretty powerful. It's the blender they use at Smoothie King. I first saw this mixer at the State Fair at least 8 years ago, and I've wanted one since. Every year during the fair I go to the same building, sit down in the little metal chairs, and watch the demonstration. I go up front and take the little plastic sample cup of smoothie. I get a brochure and look longingly at the machine capable of making those wonderful fruity concoctions. And I finally have one of my very own.

Kennedy's First Day of School

I know I'm a little late, but school started for me too, and I've been a little busy. Kennedy started pre-school this year. She was so excited about going. I had the cutest outfit picked out for her to wear...she wanted to wear her 4th of July dress with the firecrackers on the front. Oh well.

I have a quote from her first week of school:

"School is Disgusting."

It's going a little bit better now, but she still says she doesn't like it. I think it will be better once she gets used to it. I know it's a huge adjustment for her. She's used to going to Mrs. Kim's with only three other kids and only going part-time. Now that I'm working full-time, she has to go every day, and there are between 12-15 kids in her class. She got to be line-leader this week, and she liked that. She also enjoys show-and-tell. Each week they learn a letter, and on Friday they bring something that starts with that letter. So far we've learned "M" and "T".

Fun at the Lake

What a wonderful farewell to the summer.

We went to a family reunion at the lake. Mom's cousin took us on his boat to an island in the middle of the lake. We got out and swam and walked on the sandbar that extended at least 50 feet into the water. We also took turns riding around the lake on a jet ski. I love this picture of Mom and her girls. I would have taken more pictures, but the batteries on my camera ran out.

A Roof Over Our Heads

We turned the corner into our neighborhood and saw that we have shingles on our roof. It's really coming along.

Conner gets so excited about repeatedly driving out to the house.

Here's our back patio.

This will be our livingroom. That's our fireplace in the corner.

Here is my bathtub. I can't wait to soak in my garden tub!
