Lisa and Madison Come for a Visit

Conner thinks she's pretty cool

Madison thought Roxie was pretty cool and even let Roxie give her kisses...yuck

Lisa with the girls

Kennedy pushed Madison to the pool

The girls in their matching swimsuits

Look who's walkin'

Isn't she beautiful?

Paul, Lisa, and Madison Come for a Visit

Isn't she adorable?

The kids really enjoyed seeing Madison. I think she recognized their voices.

They fought over who was going to feed her.

That's so sweet

I just realized that I didn't get any pictures of Paul and Lisa--isn't that the way it always is? Once the baby gets here, no one cares about the Mommy and Daddy anymore!

Miss Maddie Lou

Here are some pictures from late September that I never got around to posting. We went to the lake for the day and had a wonderful day.

What Have We Been Up To?

I haven't had a chance to post in forever, so I thought I'd give a run-down of our fall in pictures:

September:

Work continued on our house. (I'm standing in my kitchen)

Conner won a medal for his outstanding TAKS scores from last spring

The football team voted me "Teacher of the Week" and I got to go up in the press box before the game and go on the field at the game. Here Conner and Kennedy are waiting for the guys to come down to the field and run through the Pirate ship.

More football games. After this football game Kennedy informed me that she can't decide if she wants to be a conductor (drum major), a cheerleader, or a football player when she grows up. Decisions, decisions....

October:

Conner and I met one of our favorite authors, Susan Stevens Crummel. Although Conner has long outgrown picture books, he will sometimes read these to Kennedy or listen while I read to her.

Our favorites include Plaidypus Lost and The Great Fuzz Frenzy. (I know that's not the "correct" spelling of platypus, but that's the way it's spelled in the book because the grandmother makes a stuffed PLAIDypus out of Grandpa's old plaid shirt.) I was so excited when I found out she would be at Conner's school, that I got someone to watch my class and went over to meet her myself. She was loads of fun to listen to, and she signed all our books!

We went to see Paul, Lisa, and Madison and spent a lovely day at the lake.

Our annual pilgrimage to the State Fair.

David and Kennedy on the Merry-go-round.

Carving Pumpkins.
Yes, Kennedy is wearing only her panties. She has an aversion to wearing clothing around the house...we're workin' in it :0)

Kennedy dressed as Fancy Nancy for Halloween. She's a character from another set of our favorite books.

November:

Our house was completed.

We have been unable to sell our current home, so our new house went up on the market. If we sell this house before that one sells, we can still purchase it. We haven't had many lookers lately, but only one person has looked at the new home, either. I have prayed so much about this; I'm confident that God will do what's best for us. Sometimes it's hard to remember that when I look at that open kitchen and all that cabinet space :0)

December:

We went to Six Flags with some friends of ours.
Katie and Kennedy at Holiday in the park.
Kennedy shocked me by asking to ride the Shock Wave (you know...the roller coaster that does TWO loop-to-loops!). I was even more shocked when she actually rode the thing and then proclaimed, "It made my stomach feel funny...It was fun!"

Conner's favorite was The Titan. I rode it a few years ago and it made me so scared I literally couldn't scream. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. Luckily, one of our friends actually enjoys this kind of torture, so he rode with Conner.

We had a wonderful Christmas. I have enjoyed relaxing, reading. sleeping, and catching up with friends and family. Today, I have an appointment to have LASIK performed, and I'm looking forward to starting the year off with perfect vision. Hopefully, I'll do better keeping my blog updated, but if not, I promise I'll post again on Spring Break!
